That said, I have not touched Iowa since then. I had Iowa + the expensive Perma-camo long before Missouri was even a pipe dream in this game. Guess I could do some switching around, and grind up a fresh captain. A couple of 10 pointers in my Colo and NC. If I keep Iowa, I'll need to train a captain somewhere. How many have both the Iowa and the Missouri in port? Do you play them both? Or just leave the Iowa sitting in port like a museum ship? Well, after getting the Missouri on Christmas day, I ground a bit more in the Iowa, and bought the Montana.ฤก9 pointer in the Iowa, and was expecting to move him over to Montana. A player who wants to make the enemy lose goes for the cap. A player that has high damage or kills might go for the destroyer. Do I really want to risk losing my dd early on or would it be better to stay back and grab the adjacent cap? Maybe I see a dd at low health but an open cap in the opposite direction. The answer to the second is far more complicated. In a cap fight the obvious answer to the first question is, kill the enemy ship. If I'm in my dd's (which I do best in), the difference between the two is critical. It sounds idiotic but there is a difference. Most players ask themselves: What can I do to win more? The question you need to ask yourself is: What can I do to make the enemy lose. You need to do a good job predicting where the enemy goes, where their torpedo ships are lining up, and what fights you can win and what you can lose. Iowa is EXTREMELY rewarding for good strategies. Crap secondaries means your main guns pull all the weight. Intimidation factor guarantees the enemy shoots at you. Long ship and bad turning radius means you eat torpedoes like gum balls. Iowa is EXTREMELY punishing for poor strategies. Tactics defines how you achieve that criterion, do you shoot belt, bow, super structure, or above the belt but below the super structure? How often do you dodge and weave for torpedoes? How much angle and can you afford to bring your rear turret into play? Strategy is what defines where you go, what you do when you get there, and your criterion for success or failure. Like you said before, she isn't accurate at range and in the wrong brawl she is demolished. I do not have an Iowa but my understanding is that what defines good Iowa players isn't tactics but strategy.
